Observing Yom Kippur During Weekend Friday

According to Jewish oral tradition, the Yom Kippur "affliction" encompasses five key prohibitions:

- No Bathing or Washing: Maintaining a state of ritual purity.
- No Anointing with Perfumes or Lotions: Avoiding personal adornments.

Unlike Rosh Hashanah, which is marked by joyful celebrations, Yom Kippur is a somber day dedicated to introspection and atonement. Therefore, it is customary not to greet someone with "Happy Yom Kippur." Instead, expressions like "Have an easy fast" or "Meaningful fast" are more appropriate and considerate.
Some Christians argue that observing Yom Kippur within the Christian faith is redundant, as they believe that Christ's atonement fulfills 
and supersedes the need for such observances. This perspective underscores the theological differences that can exist even among groups with shared historical roots.
