This is the weekend that maybe some of us will be celebrating Valentine’s Day and they’re several weekend concerts that may help us get into the romantic mood.
But let’s start with some family fun. The Harlem Globetrotters return to America's Bayou City with their funny court skills all weekend that will wow any age. Did you know they have been around since 1928? The Globetrotters began as the Savoy Big Five, one of the premier attractions of the Chicago's Savoy Ballroom that opened 1928, a basketball team of African-American players that played exhibitions before dances. In 1928, several players left the team in a dispute. That autumn, those players, led by Tommy Brookins, formed a team called the "Globe Trotters" and toured Southern Illinois that spring. It's the weekend after Valentine’s Day. The weekend we perhaps told our significantnt other this will be a romantic weekend with this concert. The concert promoters have billed this as a Valentines' love celebration with both R&B artists. Its Charlie Wilson and R&B balladeer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds at Smart Financial Centre. Wilson has become an R&B pop icon. Some people might say that after notching ten No. 1 singles, 13 Grammy Award nominations, a New York Times best-selling memoir and ongoing sold-out, coast-to-coast arena tours, yep he's good. In the late eighties and early
nineties R& B balladeer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds ruled pop and R&B radio with more than 20 top 10 R&B and over 50 top 10 pop hits (including 16 No. 1’s). In turn, those stats have generated cumulative single and album sales of more than 600 million units worldwide. (See February Saturdays click here)
Sunday its Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser making their way to Sugarland's Smart Financial Centre ready to wow us with their unique and very creative way they play cellos. 2CELLOS rose to fame in 2011 when their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” (See this viral video @Weekend Sundays) took the world by storm. The YouTube video became a massive viral hit leading to a record deal with Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks and an invitation to join Sir Elton John on his worldwide tour. Next weekend its English rockers Muse with their Simulation Theory World Tour making their way to Toyota Center . Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Dominic Howard (drums) from Teignmouth, Devon, England.

The Beijing Dance Theater (BDT) led by choreographer Wang Yuanyuan together with visual artists Tan Shaoyuan and Hanjiang, move their company into Jones Hall downtown for their performance of "Hamlet". They have collaborated with internationally renowned dramatists, musicians and designers, enriching the international dance stages with its world-class productions, each of which represents the highest level of Chinese contemporary dance.
