Shakespeare Night at the Movies

For their 47th Anniversary season, HSF presents 6 curated Shakespeare films in repertory! The HSF team will curate a selection of classic Shakespeare films, each one featuring a live pre-screening lecture by theatre historian and HSF executive Director Dr. Rob Shimko. Tonight’ s film will be Baz Luhrmann’s stylish and action-packed Romeo + Juliet (1996) featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes as the star-crossed lovers.

Bartenders, sous chefs, wait staff — at the moment, managers in the U.S. hospitality industry are struggling to fill a range of roles at their establishments.

One owner of a gourmet burger restaurant in Houston said that before the pandemic a job opening could easily get 100 applicants. Now, she might get one or two. “I had never seen it like this before in my career,” she told us. “I’ve been doing this for over 25 years.”

These managers blame pandemic unemployment benefits for the dearth of talent. Employees say that the pandemic has opened their eyes to the realities of work.

The duo Fronseca and Cepeda make their way to downtown Houston at LiveNation's Bayou Music Center in Bayou Place. Fonseca and Cepeda's, latest music is tackles the migration situation in Columbia.

Columbia is currently hosting 1.74 million, says associated press, Venezuelan migrants who are intending to stay in Colombia long term. One of the songs from their album "Compadres", was selected by the initiative "Colombia Sin Fronteras Somos Nosotros", to invite fellow citizens to accept migration and see the benefits of it.
